Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification:

For Army Wing of NDA :- 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
For Air Force and Naval Wings of NDA and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy :- 12th Class pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
Note: Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination.

Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status:

Only unmarried Male/Female Applicants born not earlier than 02.07.2006 and not later than 01.07.2009 are eligible.

Note: Candidates should note that only the date of birth as recorded in the Matriculation/ Secondary School Examination Certificate available or an equivalent certificate on the date of submission of applications will be accepted by the Commission and no subsequent request for its change will be considered or granted.

Salary:

The salary for candidates selected through the UPSC NDA varies based on their rank and the stage of their training or career. Here’s an overview:

1. During Training Period

  • Stipend: ₹56,100 per month (fixed) during the training period at the National Defence Academy and subsequent training at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) or Naval or Air Force Academy.
  • Note: The stipend becomes the starting salary once the training is completed.

2. Post-Commission Salary (After Training)

Selection Process:

1. Written Exam (Mathematics & General Ability Test) (Total of 900 Marks)

2. SSB Test/ Interview (Intelligence and Personality Test) (Total of 900 Marks) – conducted over five days.
Key Notes:
(i) Negative marking is applicable for incorrect answers in the written exam.
(ii) The exam is conducted in both English and Hindi (except for the English section in GAT).
(iii) Candidates are required to clear the written exam to be eligible for the SSB Interview.
